Beckham's Former Manager Issues Fiery Threat to UFC Son-in-Law Amid Cheating Allegations
Andy Bernal, a former soccer star who once served as David Beckham's right-hand man at Real Madrid, has publicly threatened his UFC son-in-law, Dan 'Hangman' Hooker, following explosive claims of infidelity and financial impropriety. The controversy erupted when an Instagram influencer, using the handle @keekgrace, alleged she had been Hooker's 'side chick' for two years, accusing him of funding her lifestyle, purchasing expensive gifts, and granting access to his finances.
Explosive Allegations and Social Media Firestorm
In a series of since-deleted posts and videos, the influencer further claimed that Hooker had engaged in relations with another man during his marriage. Hooker quickly responded on X, posting, 'What I miss? No s***, I'm gay now??? Nothing like a woman scorned,' in an attempt to dismiss the allegations. While many on social media turned the saga into memes, Bernal made it clear he was not amused, taking the matter personally as it involved his daughter and grandchildren.
Bernal, a 59-year-old former defender who earned 21 caps for Australia, posted a direct video message targeting Hooker. 'This is a message for Dan Hooker. Tough guy. UFC fighter, yeah. All I've seen lately is you getting your ass kicked in the cage,' Bernal stated angrily. He referenced his autobiography, saying, 'Years ago, I wrote in my book that you are a good man, but time has shown that you are a piece of s**t.'
A Father's Protective Fury
Framing his anger around protecting his family, Bernal emphasized, 'My daughter and my granddaughters deserve better. They don't deserve a piece of s**t like you.' He then issued a direct challenge, demanding, 'You want to deal with this? You come and see me face to face, if you're a man.' Hooker, 36, who is currently on a two-fight losing streak in the UFC lightweight division, has not responded directly to Bernal's threat beyond his initial social media posts.
Bernal's Turbulent Background and Career
Bernal is no stranger to turmoil, having navigated a career marked by both success and adversity. Born in Canberra to Spanish migrants, he became a 21-time Socceroo, earning 13 full international caps and captaining Australia's youth sides. As a teenager, he moved to Spain after being noticed by Vicente del Bosque, signing with Sporting Gijón and later playing in England, including a long spell at Reading where he made over 200 appearances and played at Wembley.
His playing career was repeatedly hampered by serious knee injuries, forcing him through multiple operations before retirement. He then reinvented himself as a player agent, first signing Socceroos and Everton great Tim Cahill, and later becoming Beckham's 'right-hand man' during the superstar's blockbuster move to Real Madrid. In Madrid, Bernal described high-speed paparazzi pursuits, phone hacking, and illegal surveillance as part of daily life during the Galácticos era, with security briefings and near-miss car crashes becoming routine.
That chapter ended amid the fallout from Britain's tabloid phone-hacking scandal and the personal toll it took on him, a period he later admitted spiralled into addiction before he rebuilt his life. Now, as the chaos outside the cage threatens to overshadow Hooker's fighting career, Bernal's fiery intervention adds a new layer of drama to an already sensational story.
