Retired NBA Star Blake Griffin Enjoys Romantic Malibu Beach Day with Fiancée
Former NBA forward Blake Griffin, who retired from professional basketball in 2024, was recently photographed enjoying a romantic stroll along a Malibu beach with his fiancée, model and swimwear designer Francesca Aiello. The couple, who quietly got engaged less than two years ago, were seen hand-in-hand, soaking up the sun and sharing intimate moments by the ocean.
Couple's Beachside Bliss and Toned Physiques
Griffin, 37, flaunted his chiselled physique, wearing only a pair of olive green swimming trunks that hung low on his hips, demonstrating he has maintained his athletic shape despite retiring from the court almost two years ago. Aiello, 30, showcased her incredibly toned figure in a deep blue triangle bikini top with floral detailing and matching cheeky bottoms from her own swimwear line, Frankies Bikinis.
The pair were captured walking along the shore, chatting and laughing, with their adorable dog joining them and shaking off seawater from its fluffy coat. At one point, they stood on rocks jutting out from the sea, taking in the horizon view, before cooling down with a dip in the shallow seawater.
Private Relationship and Engagement Details
Griffin and Aiello have consistently kept their relationship out of the public eye, opting for privacy in their romance. They are believed to have started dating in June 2018, experienced a split, and later rekindled their relationship in 2023, remaining together since. Reports indicate that Griffin, a former Boston Celtics player, proposed around the holidays in 2024.
Although the couple never publicly announced their engagement, fans speculated after Aiello began flashing a dazzling ring in Instagram posts at the start of 2025. Griffin was previously engaged to Brynn Cameron, a former USC women's basketball standout, with whom he has two children: son Ford, 11, and daughter Finley, eight. The couple split in 2017.
Griffin's NBA Career and Post-Retirement Ventures
Griffin, who was voted the 2011 Rookie of the Year, enjoyed a 14-season NBA career before retiring in April 2024. He spent the majority of his time with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he played for eight years after being selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He also had stints with the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics, concluding his career with the latter.
Since retiring, Griffin has transitioned into broadcasting, joining the launch of Amazon Prime Video's NBA studio coverage in 2025. This move followed Amazon's 11-year, nearly $20 billion agreement with the league, marking a new chapter in his professional life.
Following their beach stroll, Griffin and Aiello relaxed in deck chairs on the sand, with their dog cooling down under a parasol, highlighting a picture-perfect day of leisure and love in Malibu.
