Donald Trump took to social media on Wednesday, asserting that "time is running out" for Iran to negotiate a deal on its nuclear programme. He referenced a large fleet, spearheaded by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, en route to the country, and warned that any future attack would be "far worse" than strikes launched against Iranian nuclear sites last year.
In a firm rebuttal, Iran's UN mission stated: "Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests—BUT IF PUSHED, IT WILL DEFEND ITSELF AND RESPOND LIKE NEVER BEFORE!"
