Initially, these symptoms were dismissed as normal post-pregnancy discomfort. 'Being a new mum, a lot of things felt off,' Kellie recalled. 'I was tired, I had pains in my stomach, my bowel movements had changed, and I was losing weight - all very 'normal' symptoms for a new mum.'
The situation took a serious turn when she noticed blood in her stools. 'After a few days of it occurring regularly, Jeremy told me to go see a doctor to see if it was still normal, and to stop relying on Dr Google,' she explained.
From Diagnosis to Advocacy
After waking from a colonoscopy to the devastating news that she had cancer, Kellie's world completely shattered. A year-and-a-half later, the disease progressed when cancer was found in her lung, meaning it had reached stage four and was declared terminal.
Rather than surrendering to her fate, Kellie transformed into a relentless campaigner for bowel cancer awareness. She has dedicated herself to raising her young daughter, supporting her husband through his AFL career, and living life to its absolute fullest - all while facing a cruel terminal prognosis.
In a significant milestone, she recently celebrated her 30th birthday - an age few believed she would ever reach. 'I made it!' she joyfully posted to Instagram. 'I expected to feel a decade older the moment I woke up. I didn't, obviously.'

In July of last year, Kellie published a deeply personal book titled There Must Be More, in which she reveals how she has battled her diagnosis while embracing every moment of life.
