Satellite Images Show Devastation from US-Israeli Strikes and Iran Retaliation

Satellite imagery has starkly revealed the extensive devastation unleashed across the Middle East following coordinated US-Israeli military strikes on Iran and the regime's subsequent retaliatory bombardment using suicide drones and missiles. The conflict has resulted in hundreds of casualties, significant infrastructure damage, and regional chaos.

Destruction in Tehran and Iranian Naval Base

High-resolution satellite photographs show black smoke billowing and buildings blackened at the compound of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran, which also houses government facilities. Multiple structures within the compound were destroyed, with gardens covered in dust and debris. Iranian state media initially denied Khamenei's death after the early morning raids on Saturday but later confirmed it, announcing a 40-day mourning period.

Former US President Donald Trump commented, "Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead."

Further satellite imagery reveals the destruction of cruise missile storage facilities and bunkers at Konarak base, one of Iran's four major naval sites located in the south-eastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan. Precision strikes reportedly hit aircraft shelters at this strategic location.

Iranian Retaliation Across the Region

In response, Iran intensified its offensive, launching missiles and suicide drones against Israel and Gulf Arab nations hosting US military bases. The regime vowed to unleash its "most intense offensive operation in history," promising force its enemies "have never experienced before."

Dubai Under Attack

Dubai suffered significant strikes, with three civilians killed and at least two drones hitting the city's airport. Satellite photographs show a plume of smoke billowing near the shoreline following a projectile strike. The world-famous Burj Al Arab and Palm Jumeirah hotels were struck on Saturday, with further explosions reported across the Emirates on Sunday.

The UAE government confirmed three fatalities and 58 injuries from Iran's strikes, noting that debris from intercepted drones fell onto two homes and caused a fire at the major Jebel Ali port. Dramatic footage showed a fireball in the sky near the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, as a weapon was intercepted.

Bahrain and Other Targets

The US Fifth Fleet naval base in Manama, Bahrain, sustained damage from Iranian strikes, with the Crowne Plaza hotel engulfed in thick smoke after a suicide drone attack. Bahrain's air defences responded overnight, intercepting at least 45 missiles and nine drones.

Iran also launched strikes toward Tel Aviv, killing at least ten people in Israel, including nine in a missile strike on Beit Shemesh. Explosions were reported in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, and there was one fatality in Kuwait.

Military Casualties and Broader Impact

The US military confirmed three service members killed and five seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury. Iran claimed to have struck 27 US bases in the region and targeted various other sites, including residential towers and luxury hotels.

Iran also closed the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil shipping lane, stranding at least 150 tankers. The regime's Revolutionary Guards claimed to have hit three British and American ships in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, leaving them "burning."

Air Defence Efforts and Disruptions

The UAE's Ministry of Defence reported shooting down 152 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 506 drones, though some attacks successfully breached defences. Nearly 6,000 flights worldwide have been cancelled and almost 30,000 delayed since the conflict erupted.

UK Defence Secretary John Healey stated that Iran launched two missiles toward British military bases in Cyprus, though the Cypriot government later denied this. Healey warned that Iranian missile commanders are "increasingly allowed to choose their own targets" as Tehran loses command and control.

Aircraft Carrier Incident

On Sunday afternoon, Iran targeted the USS Abraham Lincoln, one of America's two aircraft carriers dispatched to the region. State media declared it had been "struck by four ballistic missiles," but US Central Command denied this, insisting the missiles "didn't even come close."

An oil tanker was attacked off the coast of Musandam in Oman, injuring four people and forcing the entire 20-strong crew to evacuate.

Satellite images also show a massive crowd of Iranians filling Enghelab Square in central Tehran mourning Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law were killed in the joint US and Israeli strikes.
