The full menu for the state dinner hosted by President Donald Trump and Melania Trump for King Charles and Queen Camilla has been revealed. The dinner, held on Tuesday evening as part of the royal state visit, celebrated the enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States.
Menu Highlights
The menu featured classic French dishes, including Dover sole meuniere and potatoes pave, with a spring theme throughout. A White House spokesman noted that the fresh seasonal flowers on the table were "inspired by the beauty of English gardens."
First Course
The meal began with a garden vegetable veloute, a creamy French soup served with a hearts of palm salad, toasted shallots, and micro mint.
Second Course
Guests enjoyed spring herb ravioli filled with ricotta cheese and morel mushrooms, accompanied by a light parmesan emulsion. The herbs were sourced from the White House kitchen garden.
Third Course
The main course was Dover sole meuniere, a classic French preparation where the fish is lightly floured and pan-fried in nutty brown butter. It was served with spring ramps (wild leeks or wood garlic), snow peas, potatoes pave, and parsley oil.
Dessert
Dessert featured a beehive-shaped flourless chocolate gateau with White House honey and vanilla bean cremeux, alongside an almond jaconde sponge cake and creme fraiche ice cream topped with brown butter crumble.
Wine and Entertainment
Wines were carefully selected to complement the courses, including Hopkins Riesling Heritage 2024, Penner-Ash Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2022, and Newton Chardonnay Unfiltered 2022. A White House spokesperson said the wine choices honored "the shared heritage and enduring friendship between the United States and the United Kingdom."
Evening entertainment included performances by United States military musicians.
