Trump's remarks on Iran
During his speech at Tuesday night's state dinner, President Donald Trump addressed the tensions in the Persian Gulf, referring to Iran as a 'little work in the Middle East' while emphasizing a shared front with the British monarchy. The President asserted that 'Charles agrees with me' that the nation must never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.

The state dinner
Amidst the floral elegance of a White House East Room transformed into a lush English garden, the evening's diplomatic focus shifted sharply toward global security. The King and Queen were guests at a glittering White House state dinner tonight at the end of a packed working day.
Attire and guests
Camilla, 78, wore a deep pink gown by Fiona Clare with an historic necklace made from amethysts and diamonds, which was gifted by a former Duchess of Kent to Queen Victoria and then passed to Queen Mary. His Majesty was dapper in a white tie, as was the President. First Lady Melania wore a pale delphinium pink silk strapless gown by Christian Dior Haute Couture, with off-white Dior suede gloves and Dior pale delphinium silk pumps.
Arrival and proceedings
The King and Queen had been driven over from nearby Blair House by car and were met outside the South Portico by their hosts. After posing for photographs they were led, along with the President and First Lady, by a Military Colour Guard to the base of the Grand Staircase inside where they posed for another formal photograph. The VIP party then proceeded to the Blue Room where they met with the 120 guests who had been invited to the event, before entering the East Room where the dinner was being held.
