Mark Adderley, the husband of Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha, has been suspended from the Green Party following a series of videos deemed antisemitic, in which he compared Israel to Nazi Germany and accused Mossad of orchestrating terror attacks against Jewish people.
Adderley, who was standing as a Green candidate in the Crystal Palace and Upper Norwood ward for the Croydon elections, regularly posts content to his YouTube channel alongside his wife. Several of his videos alleged that Israeli false flag operations were responsible for the firebombing of four Jewish community ambulances in Golders Green, the assassination of US political figure Charlie Kirk, and a missile attack on a British base in Cyprus.
The Green Party suspended Adderley on Friday night after concerns were raised by antisemitism advocacy groups and political figures, including Communities Minister and MP Steve Reed. Adderley reacted strongly on social media, describing the decision as something he was truly, deeply, and viscerally disgusted by. He claimed he had spent his entire life fighting racism in all its forms and had stood shoulder to shoulder with Jewish friends and communities against genuine hatred. Sawalha called her husband's suspension an utter disgrace.
Reed welcomed the move and congratulated Green leader Zack Polanski on taking this first step in ridding his party of antisemitism. Adderley's suspension came after a raft of videos posted in recent months prompted accusations of antisemitism. In one video from March, Adderley compared Adolf Hitler's expansionist policies to those of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that Israel is the biggest threat to the sovereignty of every nation because they are the chosen people, which he described as a cult. He also speculated on the killing of Charlie Kirk, suggesting it was carried out by Mossad and the CIA.
After the Bondi Beach attack in December, where 15 people were shot dead during a Chanukah celebration in Sydney, Adderley uploaded a video blaming Netanyahu for endangering the lives of Jewish people and Muslims worldwide. In another video concerning a kamikaze drone strike on a British base in Cyprus, he questioned whether it was an Israeli false flag operation. He also unleashed on Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, calling her a puppet of the Zionist state after she announced the government would appeal a ruling that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful.
Adderley maintained he should not have been suspended and blamed Labour for trying to recreate the Corbyn antisemitism psychodrama. He argued that the Green Party was supposed to be different and that opposing a fascistic, apartheid state is not antisemitic. The Green Party previously stated that the videos do not represent the views of the party. Daily Mail has received confirmation from the Green Party that Adderley has been suspended.
