Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a stark warning that the ongoing war in Iran could lead to a severe depletion of missile supplies for Ukraine, directly impacting its defensive capabilities against Russian aggression. During a recent address to Members of Parliament in London, Zelensky expressed deep concern over the geopolitical ramifications of the Middle Eastern conflict.
Resource Depletion and Strategic Concerns
Zelensky articulated that a prolonged military engagement in Iran would likely exhaust United States reserves and strain air defence manufacturing capacities. This depletion, he argued, would inevitably diminish the resources available for supporting Ukraine's war effort. The Ukrainian leader characterised the situation with a sense of foreboding, stating he had a "very bad feeling" about the unfolding events.
Peace Negotiations Delayed
Further complicating matters, Zelensky highlighted that peace negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict are being "constantly postponed" due to the escalating tensions in the Middle East. Following a meeting with Zelensky, Starmer asserted that Vladimir Putin must not be permitted to derive any advantage from the turmoil in the Middle East. Both leaders underscored the importance of sustained international support for Ukraine.

Zelensky did not mince words when describing the alliance between Russia and Iran, labelling them as "brothers in hatred and weapons." He issued a powerful call to action, urging the global community to ensure that regimes founded on hatred and aggression are never allowed to triumph.
