Hells Angels Member Charged with Impersonating ADF Soldier

A member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang from New South Wales has been charged with impersonating a former Australian Defence Force (ADF) soldier. The 41-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Peelwood and subsequently taken to Goulburn Police Station, where he was formally charged with falsely representing himself as a returned soldier, sailor, or airman.

Arrest Under Strike Force Benson

The arrest was carried out under Strike Force Benson, a specialised operation established by NSW Police's State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad. Detectives launched an investigation after becoming aware of an individual who had allegedly identified himself as a former member of the ADF. Through their inquiries, and with assistance from the ADF, authorities discovered that the man had no record of military service in any branch of the armed forces.

Ongoing Investigations

NSW Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, suggesting further charges may be forthcoming. The man was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday.

Strike Force Benson Background

Strike Force Benson was established in August 2025 by the Raptor Squad, a unit within the State Crime Command that targets organised criminal activity. The task force was created specifically to address ongoing criminal behaviour involving the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG). This arrest marks a significant development in the operation's efforts to curb the gang's illegal activities.
