Jordan Monaghan's Current Whereabouts After Triple Murder Conviction
Jordan Monaghan's Whereabouts After Triple Murder Conviction

The chilling case of Jordan Monaghan, a convicted triple murderer, is set to be examined in the latest episode of ITV's hard-hitting documentary series, True Crime Presents. The series, which returns every Thursday evening, delves into shocking criminal cases through detailed investigations and testimonies from police and other key figures.

Monaghan's Heinous Crimes and Conviction

In tonight's instalment, titled Prescription for Murder, the focus is on Jordan Monaghan, who was found guilty of murdering his three-week-old daughter Ruby and his 21-month-old son Logan in 2013. Additionally, Monaghan was convicted of killing his new partner, Evie Adams, in 2019. Following a ten-week trial at Preston Crown Court, he received three life sentences with a 40-year minimum term in December 2021.

Increased Sentence and Legal Challenges

However, in a subsequent hearing in 2022, the court determined that Monaghan's crimes were so severe that they warranted a higher minimum term. Consequently, his sentence was increased to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 48 years. The Attorney General commented on the case, stating, "This was a chilling and appalling case, and I wish to express all of my sympathies to the families of Ruby and Logan Monaghan and Evie Adams. Jordan Monaghan coldly murdered his two young children and partner. I hope that the increased sentence will bring some comfort to all those who loved Ruby, Logan and Evie."

In the following year, Monaghan attempted to challenge his convictions, but three Court of Appeal judges dismissed the appeal. His barrister, Benjamin Myers KC, argued that the murders of the two children and the attempted murder of a third should have been tried separately from the charge of murdering Evie Adams. Lord Justice William Davis rejected this, asserting, "We have no reason to doubt that the trial proceeded fairly."

Where is Jordan Monaghan Now?

Currently, Jordan Monaghan is incarcerated, serving his life sentence with the 48-year minimum term. He remains behind bars, with no possibility of parole until at least 2069, given the sentence was imposed in 2022. The official synopsis for True Crime Presents' Prescription for Murder describes the case as "examining the case of Evie Adams, a woman who seeks a loving family, but finds a man with a deadly secret. Eventually their hidden relationship unravels her dreams and leads to tragedy."

True Crime Presents continues to captivate audiences with its in-depth exploration of such distressing cases, available for viewing on ITVX. The series provides a platform for understanding the complexities of criminal investigations and the profound impact on victims' families.
