Trump Brands Marjorie Taylor Greene 'Traitor' in Explosive Feud
Trump calls Marjorie Taylor Greene 'traitor' in feud

Former President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, branding her a 'traitor' in an explosive social media post that reveals their dramatic political falling-out.

The Truth Social Blast

In a blistering post on his Truth Social platform, Trump floated the new nickname 'Marjorie "Traitor" Brown' and claimed Greene turned against him because he refused to return her "never ending barrage of phone calls." The former president suggested her decision to leave Congress in January 2026 was motivated by "plummeting poll numbers" and fear of facing a primary challenger with Trump's endorsement.

"For some reason, primarily that I refused to return her never ending barrage of phone calls, Marjorie went BAD," Trump wrote. He added that he believes Greene didn't want to compete for re-election against a "Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement," stating bluntly that "she would have no chance of winning!"

Greene's Shock Resignation

The public feud erupted after Greene stunned Washington DC with her Friday night announcement that she will resign from Congress at the start of 2026. In a 10-minute video shared with her announcement, Greene branded Trump as "hateful" and expressed profound frustration with her own party's inability to accomplish meaningful legislation despite controlling the presidency and both houses of Congress in 2025.

Greene revealed that her last day in office would be January 5, 2026 - notably two days after congressional pension benefits become fully vested. She claimed she was leaving to spend more time with her family amid constant death threats she received following her clash with the former president.

Growing Political Rift

The relationship between the two former allies began deteriorating earlier this year when Greene publicly broke with Trump over the White House's handling of the "Epstein files" release. She joined other rebel Republicans including Representative Thomas Massie in crossing party lines, a move Trump referenced in his Truth Social post by branding Massie "the WORST Republican Congressman in decades" and stating their relationship "did not help her."

Trump told ABC News in a brief phone call that he considered Greene's resignation "great news for the country" and confirmed she hadn't reached out to inform him of her decision before making the public announcement. "Nah, it doesn't matter, you know but I think it's great. I think she should be happy," Trump said.

The final rupture occurred last week when Trump publicly withdrew his endorsement of the Georgia Representative, dismissing her as a "ranting lunatic." Greene responded by saying Trump's move exemplified growing political establishment disgust toward her and claimed Americans were being used as "pawns in an endless game of division."

Despite the acrimonious split, Trump concluded his Truth Social post by stating: "Nevertheless, I will always appreciate Marjorie, and thank her for her service to our Country! President DJT."
