I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Adam Thomas has expressed regret over his explosive reaction when Jimmy Bullard threatened his place in the jungle by quitting a trial. The 37-year-old actor clashed with the former footballer, 47, during a pre-recorded challenge that would see the losing duo sent home.
Earlier this week, the pair were paired for a trial, and shortly after it began, Jimmy told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, 'I just don't have it in me.' He then called out the show's iconic phrase, effectively abstaining from the challenge. Believing this secured his exit, Adam launched into a furious rant, shouting, 'Are you f***ing taking the p***?' Things escalated as Adam approached Jimmy, yelling about being covered in ants and branding him a 'p***k'.
Jimmy retorted, 'Woah, woah, woah – calm down, that's pathetic,' but Adam continued ranting off-screen, with much of his speech bleeped out. He confronted Jimmy again, saying, 'If you wanted to go, then f***ing go, don't take me with you. All you had to do was run through some f***ing mud and you said 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.' Adam concluded, 'I am not a quitter bro, I don't quit.'
Now, Adam has admitted he regrets his actions, attributing them to the 'random' nature of Jimmy's departure. Speaking ahead of the ITV show's final, he said, 'It was just really random and unexpected. I didn't see it coming. Safe to say, I don't think I was too happy about it. The fact I felt like I was leaving because of someone else just really broke my heart, as I wanted to do my kids proud. Emotions can get the better of you in there, and in hindsight, I probably would never have reacted the way I did, but I was just really upset.'
Adam was ultimately saved from elimination after Jimmy quit the series. He expressed gratitude for reaching the final, saying, 'To get to the final again for the second time running really means a lot, and I'm sure my whole family will be super proud of me.'
Ant and Dec confirmed that the entire I'm A Celebrity cast will attend the live final on Friday night. Speaking at the ITV Showcase event, Dec said, 'We've got the live final tomorrow night, that is going to be interesting. We're getting them all back together; apparently they are all coming.'
During Thursday's episode, Adam broke down in tears after receiving a family message via voice notes. He became emotional listening to his family's voices, saying, 'There's magic in it.'
The drama follows an ongoing 'bullying' row between Adam and former boxer David Haye. Adam revealed he is receiving therapy after clashing with David, who allegedly made swipes at him. On his podcast, Adam emotionally said the row 'f***ed' with him, adding, 'It was like being back in school again. He was just mind f***ing me.' David has since apologised but later doubled down, calling Adam 'weak' and a 'Chihuahua'.
Adam, who has autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis, struggled with fatigue in the jungle. Despite David's comments, Adam thanked his female campmates for their support, posting on social media: 'I just want to say thank you to all these incredible women. You've supported me in ways I don't even think you fully understand.'
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
