Man Critical After Axe Attack in Acton Park

A man is fighting for his life after being attacked with an axe in Acton Park earlier this month. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 2, at approximately 5:29 pm, when police received reports of an altercation involving an axe in the parkland in Ealing.

Suspect Charged and Remanded

Adam Abdillahi, 45, of Australia Road, Hammersmith and Fulham, was arrested on Thursday, April 9, on suspicion of attempted murder. He was charged the following day and appeared at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 10, where he was remanded in custody. A second man, aged 44, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday, April 4, but has since been bailed.

Police Investigation and Appeal

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: "Police were called to the parkland in Ealing following reports of an altercation at 5.29pm on Thursday, April 2. Met officers attended and provided immediate first aid to a 31-year-old man, who was found on a footpath with a stab wound to his back. He was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition."

Detective Inspector John Gillespie, leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with the man and his family as he continues to receive medical treatment. This incident took place towards the bottom of the park, close to a busy main road, tennis courts and a mini golf course. If you were nearby and saw anything, or captured any footage on your phone, please come forward and speak to police."
