The Secret is set in Northern Ireland and tells the disturbing true story of the 1991 double murder committed by Colin Howell and Hazel Buchanan. The series is based on Deric Henderson's true crime book Let This Be Our Secret and depicts how Howell and Buchanan plotted the murders of their respective spouses.
