Adrian Portelli Smashes Controversial Bathroom with Sledgehammer on My Reno Rules
Portelli Destroys My Reno Rules Bathroom with Sledgehammer

Adrian Portelli, the billionaire entrepreneur and sponsor of the reality show My Reno Rules, has taken a sledgehammer to a bathroom designed by contestants Michelle and Emma Sweeny. The en suite, unveiled on Tuesday's episode, was condemned by judges as 'dark, drab, dreary and claustrophobic.'

Poll Sparks Destruction

After the mother-daughter duo's design choices were slammed by the judging panel, Portelli, 37, turned to his 1.5 million Instagram followers for guidance. He polled them on whether the bathroom should be destroyed. An overwhelming 96% voted 'yes,' while only 4% wanted the controversial en suite, featuring black fixtures, left intact.

On Wednesday, Portelli responded to fans on his Instagram Stories. 'In a landslide poll, you guys want me to smash this toilet,' he announced, brandishing a demolition tool. In a comedic video, he initially claimed he wouldn't smash it, but then 'accidentally' lost control of the heavy hammer, which crashed into the black toilet, crushing it instantly. He proceeded to shatter the black tiling on the walled shower and one of the black basins before dropping the sledgehammer and walking out.

Judges' Reaction

Earlier, judges Julia Green, Neal Whitaker, and Simon Cohen were left speechless during their walk-through of the bathroom. Simon Cohen remarked, 'I'm just confused,' while Whitaker noted, 'It does not marry with anything else in the house,' referring to the light and airy design in the rest of House 1. Julia Green declared it 'one of the worst bathrooms I've ever seen.'

Following the devastating review, Michelle and Emma sit at the bottom of the leaderboard in fourth place with 42 points. Nathan and Julia are in third with 45.5 points, while Mitch and Shaz lead with 50 points, and Franky and Issac follow closely with 49 points. The teams compete for a top prize of $1 million, with the runner-up receiving $250,000.
