Two Dead in Kentucky Bank Robbery; Gunman Hunted

A manhunt is underway in Kentucky after two bank employees were shot dead during a robbery on Thursday afternoon. The armed suspect, who remains at large, entered a U.S. Bank branch in Berea wearing a gray-white hoodie, gloves, and a mask before opening fire on a male and a female employee, according to Kentucky State Police Trooper Scottie Pennington.

Authorities Search for Suspect

Law enforcement officials are conducting door-to-door inquiries, reviewing surveillance footage, and deploying helicopters, drones, and canine units in the search. The FBI and other federal agencies are assisting local and state police. Pennington stated that investigators have some leads and are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice, describing the act as evil.

Community on Alert

It remains unclear whether the suspect fled on foot, by vehicle, or was picked up. Police have released a photo of the suspect and urge anyone with information to come forward. Residents are advised to remain vigilant, keep porch lights on, and ensure phones are charged. Area schools were temporarily placed under lockdown until deemed safe, with students required to be collected by parents rather than taking buses.
