MAGA Civil War Erupts as Bannon and Stone Clash Over Epstein Documentary Allegations
A bitter civil war has erupted within the MAGA movement, pitting longtime Republican operative Roger Stone against former Trump adviser Steve Bannon in a vicious online feud. The conflict ignited following the release of Jeffrey Epstein files that allegedly reveal Bannon's close relationship with the convicted sex trafficker.
Epstein Documentary Plans Spark Controversy
According to recently released emails from the Epstein files, Steve Bannon was reportedly planning a "redemptive" documentary about Jeffrey Epstein. The communications suggest Bannon was texting Epstein on the very day the financier was arrested in 2019 for sex trafficking charges.
Roger Stone wasted no time seizing on these revelations, telling his followers to examine the emails closely. "That's our stinky Steve," Stone wrote in response to an article about the Epstein-Bannon communications. He claimed Bannon "was very far up Epstein's a** and was advising him on how to lie his way out of his criminal pedophile past."
Social Media Warfare Escalates
The conflict quickly escalated on social media platform X, where Grace Chong, the CFO and COO of Bannon's War Room podcast, came to her boss's defense. Chong posted an image suggesting Stone's head was oddly angled, though the exact implication remained unclear.
Stone later claimed Chong blocked him on the platform, asking sarcastically, "Was it something I said?" This only prompted Chong to intensify her attacks, asking if anyone had pictures of Stone in a thong and sharing a video of him dancing with the caption "someone get their drunk grandpa."
Accusations and Counter-Accusations Fly
The feud took increasingly bizarre turns as Stone accused Bannon of using his jacuzzi to manufacture methamphetamine. "A receipt where Bannon bought the acid has been recovered," Stone claimed. "Chemists tell me that the hot tub was most likely used to make crystal meth rather than dissolving his enemies."
Stone attached his post to a 2015 Washington Post story detailing the condition of the jacuzzi after Bannon left his Miami home, though no evidence directly connected the hot tub to meth production.
Broader Conservative Criticism Emerges
Stone wasn't alone in criticizing Bannon. Ian Miles Cheong, a Malaysian commentator on American conservative politics, called Bannon a "fraudster of the highest order" who fleeced supporters to fund his lifestyle.
"The fact that Steve Bannon was a Trump-hating degenerate and an ally who was trying to clear the 'good name' of Jeffrey Epstein through the production of a documentary is only the tip of filth-encrusted iceberg," Cheong wrote.
Another X user going by "unseen1" suggested Bannon sees himself as the true head of the MAGA movement, with Trump merely serving as a "placeholder" in his mind.
Stone Amplifies Criticism Through Media
Roger Stone used his platform to amplify other media criticizing Bannon, sharing a podcast episode where he claimed to have "exposed" Bannon's alleged misdeeds. "Steve Bannon, convicted fraudster, CCP paid frontman and Epstein Enabler gets fully exposed in this show," Stone wrote.
This represents a continuation of Stone's longstanding criticism of Bannon. In 2021, Stone blamed Bannon for the Capitol riot, claiming it was "highly likely" Bannon gave the order for rioters to enter the building, though no evidence supports this allegation.
Personal Insults Reach New Heights
Grace Chong dismissed all criticism as irrelevant, noting Bannon's four-month stint in minimum security federal prison. "You think he gives a f*** what some fat guy Dilley or some nobody with a steak for a brain thinks?" she wrote. "He doesn't even know they exist. And Roger Stone's so old he's gonna die soon."
Stone fired back: "Before I die that CCP money Stinky Steve funneled to you will be fully exposed, you fat talentless [expletive]...and I will outlive you."
The schoolyard antics continued as Chong called Stone "100 years old" and referenced his legal issues: "Plus, I'm skinny. You're old and will die in the next year or so. Bye you old ugly Pam Bondi b**** of a man. How's that Somalia money going. How's the fraud investigations? Lmaooo."
Chong later complained that Stone was forcing her to "punch down" and called him a "stupid old man," highlighting the deeply personal nature of the conflict.
The Independent has requested comment from both Stone and Bannon regarding this escalating feud that has exposed significant fractures within the MAGA movement's leadership.
