The club confirmed the immediate change in leadership on Wednesday, citing recent performances that fell below expected standards.

Liam Rosenior, who succeeded Enzo Maresca in January, oversaw a disastrous sequence of five consecutive losses without scoring a single goal. His tenure culminated in a defeat to Brighton, after which he publicly questioned his players' commitment, signalling the end of his short-lived reign at Stamford Bridge.
McFarlane's Return to Caretaker Duties
Calum McFarlane, the former under-21s boss, has been appointed as caretaker head coach for the second time this campaign. In his previous interim stint, McFarlane managed only a draw against Manchester City and suffered a loss to local rivals Fulham, failing to secure a victory. Despite this, the club has expressed confidence in his ability to guide the team through the remaining fixtures.

It's about them producing the level of performance that they've done before against top sides. We've had some top results this year and we know what this side is capable of. My message to them is bringing the best version of themselves and being all in it together and believing that we can get the next couple of days right and hopefully put in a good performance on Sunday."
