Dallas Cowboys Coach Backs Dak Prescott Amid Personal Challenges
Within the Dallas Cowboys organisation, there is minimal apprehension that quarterback Dak Prescott will become distracted by personal matters as the new NFL season approaches. Prescott and his former fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, who is the mother of his two children, ended their relationship in March. The split occurred shortly after they hosted a combined bachelor and bachelorette celebration in the Bahamas, with reports suggesting Ramos discovered Prescott communicating with other women via an anonymous social media account.
Lavish Wedding Plans Abruptly Cancelled
The couple had scheduled an extravagant wedding ceremony for early April in Lake Como, Italy, but promptly notified guests that the event was cancelled. This development has drawn attention from Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who acknowledged this week that he has been providing support to his star quarterback during this difficult period.
'Dak and I have had a ton of conversations,' Schottenheimer stated, according to the Dallas Morning News. 'He's in a really good spot. Obviously, what he's dealing with is incredibly tough. But if anyone can handle it, he can.'
The coach emphasised his proactive approach to player welfare, noting, 'I try to talk to all the guys. I reach out to most of them. I'm a little bit, I guess obsessive-compulsive in that regard, in trying to reach out to position groups to check in.'
Social Media Clues and Contract Context
Prescott has maintained public silence regarding the breakup, while Ramos has shared multiple photographs on social media featuring their daughters since the separation was announced. She even posted images from her bachelorette festivities before the full story emerged, accompanied by a caption that now appears pointed: 'I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends. I love these girls so much.'
Additionally, Ramos removed any reference to being a fiancée from her Instagram biography. Prescott, aged 32, is currently in the middle of a lucrative four-year contract with the Cowboys worth $240 million.
Team Aspirations and Upcoming NFL Draft
The Cowboys have faced disappointment in the past two seasons, failing to secure a playoff berth, which has intensified owner Jerry Jones's determination to guide the team back to Super Bowl contention. The new NFL season commences in the first week of September, but immediate focus is directed towards the NFL Draft at the end of April in Pittsburgh.
Dallas holds the 12th and 20th selections in the first round, presenting opportunities to strengthen their roster. Schottenheimer's reassurance about Prescott's mental readiness underscores the organisation's confidence in their quarterback's ability to maintain professional focus amidst personal adversity, as they aim to reverse recent fortunes and pursue championship success.
