Guardiola has previously acknowledged plans to take a break after his stint with Manchester City. Earlier this season, he confirmed, "I know that after this stage with City I'm going to stop, that's for sure, it's decided, more than decided." He elaborated on his desire to step back, using a Catalan phrase about watching life pass by, akin to "cows watch the train go by."
Sammer has urged Guardiola to consider a hiatus to rediscover his passion for football. "I would advise him to take a deep breath," he added, suggesting that the pressures of management might be taking a toll.
