Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim faces significant team selection challenges ahead of Monday evening's Premier League clash against Everton at Old Trafford.
Injury Crisis Deepens for Red Devils
The international break has provided little respite for United, who are grappling with multiple injury concerns. The situation worsened during their recent 2-2 draw with Tottenham, where both Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire were forced off with injuries.
Amorim confirmed the extent of the problems during his pre-match press conference, stating that Maguire is definitely ruled out of the Everton match. There's also concern surrounding Kobbie Mainoo, who missed training sessions but might return before the game.
Predicted Starting Lineup Against Everton
In goal, summer signing Senne Lammens is expected to retain his position as first-choice goalkeeper after establishing himself as number one.
The defence will see changes with Maguire's absence. Leny Yoro is likely to be drafted into the starting eleven, joining Luke Shaw and Matthijs de Ligt in a back three formation.
In the wing-back positions, Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu are anticipated to start, despite Dorgu being one yellow card away from suspension.
The midfield should see the return of Casemiro, who appears to have recovered from his injury issues. Captain Bruno Fernandes remains an automatic selection in the centre of the park.
Attack Reshuffle Without Sesko
The attacking department presents the biggest headache for Amorim. Benjamin Sesko has been ruled out for several weeks with a knee injury sustained against Tottenham.
Amorim provided an update on the striker: "He is going to stay a few weeks out. I don't know how long but it is not that serious. We have to be careful with him. He is doing the recovery and he is feeling better so we expect in a few weeks to have him back."
This absence should see Bryan Mbeumo lead the line against Everton, with Matheus Cunha and Amad completing the attacking trio. Joshua Zirkzee remains an alternative option, while Cunha could also operate as a false nine if required.
Manchester United predicted XI vs Everton: Lammens; Shaw, Yoro, De Ligt; Dorgu, Fernandes, Casemiro, Mazraoui; Cunha, Amad, Mbeumo.
