Ryan Reynolds Unveils Inter Bogotá Shirt After Major Colombian Club Rebrand
Ryan Reynolds reveals new Inter Bogotá shirt after rebrand

Hollywood actor and football club investor Ryan Reynolds has personally unveiled the new kit for his latest sporting venture, following a dramatic and comprehensive rebrand of a Colombian team.

A New Identity for a Historic Club

The club, formerly known as La Equidad, has been officially reborn as Internacional de Bogotá, or Inter Bogotá. Reynolds, who co-owns Wrexham AFC with Rob McElhenney, is a shareholder in the Colombian side through the Tylis-Porter Group. The group acquired La Equidad in January 2025 in a deal valued between £11 million and £15 million.

Promoting the new identity, Reynolds appeared in an Instagram video where he unboxed a package from the club and proudly pulled on the freshly revealed white-and-gold shirt. The kit features a completely redesigned crest, marking a definitive break from the old La Equidad branding.

Ambitious Plans On and Off the Pitch

The name change, confirmed in December 2025, is just one part of a sweeping strategy to modernise the club's image and expand its international reach. Club president Nicolás Maya revealed to Forbes that Inter Bogotá aims to become "the first sports club in Bogotá to have a city brand to represent it around the world", with backing from the mayor's office and local business groups.

The transformation extends far beyond branding. The club has dismissed long-time head coach Alexis García, replacing him with Argentine Ricardo Valiño, who leads a new international coaching setup. Internally, bosses are restructuring operations to build a more professional and sustainable business model.

Maya admitted that sporting results have suffered during this transition period but insisted significant progress has been made behind the scenes in areas like sales, logistics, and youth development. The women's team is also set for increased investment.

Star-Studded Investment and Wrexham Success

The Tylis-Porter Group's investment portfolio includes other celebrity backers such as actresses Eva Longoria and Kate Upton, alongside MLB star Justin Verlander. The group also holds a stake in Mexican side Club Necaxa.

Meanwhile, Reynolds's primary football project, Wrexham, continues to make headlines. The actor was in attendance at the Racecourse Ground on Friday night to watch Wrexham knock Premier League side Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup after extra time and penalties. He even brought his mother, Tammy, to witness the historic victory.

Inter Bogotá is now preparing for its first official season under the new identity in 2026. Their debut match is expected to be against América at the iconic Pascual Guerrero Stadium in Cali, with final fixture details for the Liga BetPlay Dimayor still to be confirmed.
