Tottenham Duo Kolo Muani and Odobert Unhurt After Minor Car Crash En Route to Airport
Tottenham Players Unhurt After Minor Car Crash Before Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has provided a reassuring update on the condition of two key players following an unexpected incident on Tuesday. Randal Kolo Muani and Wilson Odobert were involved in what has been described as a minor car accident while making their way to the airport ahead of the club's crucial Champions League fixture.

Manager Confirms Players Are 'Fine' Following Incident

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday evening, Frank addressed concerns about the players' welfare, stating clearly that both individuals emerged from the incident without injury. "Kolo Muani and Wilson Odobert are both fine," Frank confirmed. "Unfortunately, both were involved in a minor accident - everyone involved in that accident is fine."

Details of the Travel Disruption

According to reports from Sky Sports, the incident occurred when a tyre blew out on Kolo Muani's vehicle. Teammate Odobert, who was travelling in a separate car, promptly pulled over to check on his colleague. This unexpected mechanical failure caused a delay in their travel plans, though Frank emphasised this would not affect their availability for the upcoming match.

"It was a tyre blowing up, so the two of them are a little bit delayed, but they will land later tonight," the manager explained, adding some clarification about the exact circumstances: "I'm actually in doubt if they were both in the car. But they were together. But they are fine - it was on the way to the airport."

Expected Availability for Champions League Clash

Despite the concerning incident, Frank expressed confidence that both players would be ready for Wednesday's Champions League tie against German side Eintracht Frankfurt. "That is my absolute understanding on everything," he stated regarding their availability. "I haven't spoken to them personally yet because the first message is that they are fine. They are flying out later, and I fully expect both to be available for tomorrow."

Broader Team News and Selection Issues

The incident comes amid other selection challenges for Tottenham. The team will definitely be without defender Pedro Porro, who faces four weeks out with a hamstring injury. Centre-back Micky van de Ven also has a minor issue, though he is expected to return in time for Sunday's Premier League encounter with Manchester City.

On a more positive note, midfielders Pape Sarr and Joao Palhinha both return to the squad for Wednesday's European fixture. However, several players remain ineligible for Champions League selection, including:

  • Radu Dragusin
  • Mathys Tel
  • Conor Gallagher
  • Yves Bissouma

The minor travel disruption serves as an unwelcome distraction ahead of an important European match, but Frank's reassurances suggest it will have minimal impact on Tottenham's preparations. The club and fans will be relieved that both players escaped what could have been a more serious incident without harm.
