Actor Jacob Elordi has been compelled to withdraw from a prestigious role at this year's Cannes Film Festival after sustaining an injury that prevents him from walking the red carpet. The Australian star, 28, was scheduled to serve on the official jury for the acclaimed annual event but has broken his foot.
Elordi was expected to attend the festival, which runs from May 12 to May 23 in Cannes, France. According to Page Six, his broken bone has left festival organisers scrambling to find a replacement judge. As a juror, the Saltburn actor would have participated in movie screenings, premieres, press conferences, photocalls, and parties, as reported by Variety.
This year's jury includes Demi Moore, Stellan Skarsgård, and Ruth Negga, among others. Elordi's absence comes shortly after he and model Kendall Jenner sparked rumours of a romantic connection when they were reportedly seen kissing at Coachella last month.
The 30-year-old supermodel and the actor, both known for their high-profile relationships, were observed getting close during Justin Bieber's post-show party following his headline set. Multiple sources told Deuxmoi that the pair were 'enjoying each other’s company at the Bieber after party, making out and all over each other.'
However, the two are not new acquaintances, having been friends for four years. Eagle-eyed fans even speculated they spotted the Kissing Booth actor in one of Jenner's Instagram photos from her Coachella 818 party. One of their first public outings together was in late February 2022 in Paris, where they hung out with Dominic Fike and Luka Sabbat.
