Christian Dumontet, the estranged husband of reality television star Christine Quinn, has revealed he is spending a staggering $27,000 each month on a Los Angeles residence they once shared. In a dramatic court filing, he is urgently seeking sole legal ownership of the property to facilitate a sale and stop what he describes as a severe financial freefall.
Financial Burden and Legal Battle
According to documents filed on Friday in Los Angeles and reviewed by the Daily Mail, Dumontet, 47, stated he wants to be legally awarded the home to pay off the mortgage. He emphasized the need to sell the property as soon as possible to "stop the ongoing financial loss associated with maintaining a non-income-producing asset." Dumontet purchased the property as an investment in 2019, shortly before marrying Quinn, 37, a Dallas native.
He informed the court that he owes $3.5 million on the mortgage and has been sinking thousands into rent, security, and upkeep costs. "This is not sustainable," Dumontet declared in court documents. "I require immediate court intervention to stop this financial hemorrhaging."
Personal Turmoil and Property Dispute
Dumontet and Quinn, best known for appearing on the Netflix series Selling Sunset, are parents to a four-year-old son named Christian. Their relationship ended in March 2024 following a series of alleged domestic violence incidents, which led Quinn to obtain a temporary restraining order and resulted in Dumontet being arrested twice within hours.
In his latest court filing, Dumontet, who formerly went by the name Christian Richard, explained that these personal events left him unable "to act with respect" to the home. When permitted to return, he invested thousands into repairs and renovations. He currently resides in France with his girlfriend and their one-year-old son, underscoring his need for sole ownership to proceed with a critical sale.
Quinn's Position and Court Decision
Dumontet noted that Quinn does not live in the home and has not since around September 2025. He asserted that Quinn "has never made any financial contribution ... whether toward the purchase price, mortgage payments, carrying costs, maintenance, or otherwise." Consequently, Quinn is "not on the hook" monetarily for any costs related to the mortgage or repairs.
"I alone am suffering this harm, and without court intervention, I will continue to," Dumontet told the court. However, his emergency order request was subsequently denied by the court.
Life After the Split
Following her split from Dumontet, Quinn moved back to her native Texas. In an interview with People last year, the reality star expressed gratitude for living close to relatives. "I have a sister who lives really close to me, and my son has a cousin. I found a wonderful house," Quinn told the outlet. She added, "I would say it's, like, 60 percent done, but there's still some things that I want to do and really take it to the next level because I love interior design."
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Quinn for further comment, but no additional statements have been provided at this time.
