Billie Faiers reflects on Maldives holiday after family loss

Television personality Billie Faiers has shared a series of stunning snaps from her family's festive holiday to the Maldives, reflecting on the 'treasured memories' made during their sun-soaked getaway.

Sun-Kissed Snaps and Family Fun

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the 35-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star showcased her incredible figure in a strapless khaki bikini. In one photo, she posed on the beach with her husband, Greg Shepherd, 40. Another image saw her wearing a powder blue co-ord set with matching sunglasses, soaking up the sun.

The fun-filled trip was a family affair, with the couple's three children joining the adventure. Their daughter Nelly, 11, son Arthur, eight, and youngest daughter Margot, three, all enjoyed activities like kayaking during their time in the tropical paradise.

A Getaway Following Heartbreak

This annual holiday held particular significance for the family, coming in the wake of profound personal tragedy. Late last year, Greg Shepherd lost both his father and his step-father.

Back in September, Billie posted a heartfelt tribute to her father-in-law, Dave, after he passed away suddenly at the age of 77. She described being 'utterly heartbroken' and said 'life will never feel the same'. Sharing a collection of family photos, she wrote a moving caption honouring his memory.

'I have been so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life, a man we all looked up to,' Billie expressed. She praised Dave as 'the best father in law, dad and granddad' and listed the simple things she would miss, from their chats to making him endless cups of tea.

Cherishing Precious Moments

Greg also shared his own emotional tribute at the time, stating he was 'gutted and heartbroken'. He credited his dad for teaching him how to be a father and for always being present. 'I hope I can be the kind of man you were,' Greg wrote.

Against this backdrop of loss, the family's Maldivian escape served as a precious opportunity to reconnect and create joyful new memories. Captioning her holiday post, Billie summed up their feelings: 'What a wonderful time we had. Grateful for the memories, we will cherish them forever.'

The images present a picture of a family embracing happiness and sunshine, finding moments of light and togetherness after a difficult period.
