FBI Unveils New Video in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance Investigation
The FBI has released new video and photographic evidence showing a masked person of interest in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of television personality Savannah Guthrie. This development comes as authorities intensify their search following reports of ransom notes sent to media outlets.
Doorbell Camera Footage Reveals Armed Individual
Photos recovered from Nancy Guthrie's front doorbell camera depict an "armed individual" who appears to be tampering with the device on the morning of her disappearance. The footage, which was previously inaccessible, has been retrieved from residual data in backend systems after extensive efforts by law enforcement.
FBI Director Kash Patel explained the technical recovery process: "Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have collaborated closely with private sector partners to recover any lost, corrupted, or inaccessible images or video from Nancy Guthrie’s home. This includes data affected by the removal of recording devices."
Law Enforcement Appeals for Public Assistance
Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the person seen in the video to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, with the FBI examining ransom notes that specified two deadlines, both of which have now expired. Patel added, "Working with our partners, law enforcement has uncovered these new images showing an armed individual tampering with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning she disappeared."
The release of this video marks a critical step in the case, as police continue to pursue all leads in the mysterious disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
