Homicide detectives have taken charge of the investigation into the tragic death of a one-year-old boy in the regional Victorian city of Ballarat.
Police Hand Case to Homicide Squad
Victoria Police confirmed on Monday that the case concerning the young boy's death in the suburb of Sebastopol has been formally handed to the Homicide Squad. This significant development indicates that detectives are treating the circumstances with the utmost seriousness.
The one-year-old boy became unresponsive at approximately 12pm on Tuesday, November 4, while at his family home. According to an official police statement, the child's mother and her partner subsequently rushed him to hospital for urgent medical attention.

Despite efforts to save him, the infant's condition did not improve. The child sadly passed away two days later, on Wednesday, 6 November, in a Melbourne hospital.
