Mother-of-Two Found Dead in Ipswich Flat as Man Charged with Murder
A family has been left absolutely devastated after the tragic death of a mother-of-two, who was found unresponsive in a flat in Ipswich, Suffolk. Karlie Sone, aged 28, was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday and died moments later at the scene. Police were alerted to the incident at 1.10am by an individual expressing concerns for the welfare of Ms Sone.
Arrest and Charges in the Case
Shortly after the discovery, Paul Stevenson, 39, was arrested and has since been charged with the murder of Karlie Sone, who was also known as Karlie Day. The cause of death for Ms Sone, a receptionist at the football centre Goals Ipswich, remains unknown at this time, pending further investigation.

Legal Proceedings and Investigation
Paul Stevenson appeared at Ipswich Crown Court, where a trial date has been set for September 24, with a predicted duration of seven days. A plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled for May, as ordered by Jude Samantha Leigh. Stevenson has not yet entered a plea.
Initially described as suspicious, Ms Sone's death prompted a murder investigation. A post-mortem examination concluded that the cause of death requires further investigation. Stevenson was questioned at the Police Investigation Centre in Martlesham, near Ipswich, after his arrest, with magistrates granting an additional 29 hours for questioning.
