The father of a young man stabbed to death on Primrose Hill has spoken of his profound heartbreak, describing the loss of his 21-year-old son as the "worst tragedy he could ever imagine." Finbar Sullivan, a photographer and music video director, was found with fatal stab wounds on the North London beauty spot on Tuesday evening, following reports of a disturbance.
A Father's Unimaginable Grief
Christian Sullivan, founder of the 1980s jazz band Blue Rondo à la Turk, expressed his devastation in an emotional statement. "This is the worst tragedy I could ever imagine," he said. "He's my only son... I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced." The grieving father added, "I'm so broken-hearted, I can't believe it. He was the most beautiful, lovely, outgoing, loving boy. He was just a really lovely person. And why he was targeted, we have no idea."
Tragic Circumstances of the Attack
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 PM on Tuesday, when police responded to reports of a fight on Primrose Hill. Finbar Sullivan was discovered with serious stab injuries and, despite the efforts of paramedics, was pronounced dead at the scene. In a poignant detail, his father revealed that Finbar had been testing a new camera, a birthday present from his family, at the time of the attack. "He'd just bought a new camera, we all chipped in for his 21st birthday, and he took it up there to do a bit of filming," Christian Sullivan explained.
Police Investigation Underway
Superintendent Matt Cox addressed the community, stating, "This is an utterly tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the man’s family and loved ones." He sought to reassure local residents, noting, "I would like to reassure the local community that the investigation is unfolding at pace and an increased police presence will remain in the area while we carry out enquiries." Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing murder investigation.
Remembering Finbar Sullivan
