A New Chapter for a Parisian Gem
Having shut its doors to the public on 16 September 2024, the museum has undergone a comprehensive €3.8 million (approximately £3.3 million) overhaul. This substantial investment has facilitated the meticulous restoration of its historic pavilion, the creation of a vastly improved visitor reception area, and the introduction of more accessible pathways through its esteemed collections. Originally opening in 1987 following the renovation of painter Ary Scheffer's former residence, the museum now enters a fresh era designed to enchant a modern audience.
Valentine's Day Celebrations and Permanent Collections
The reopening on 14 February is being framed as a unique celebration of romance within the City of Love itself. The museum has planned a special day filled with activities, discoveries, and shared moments for couples and visitors alike. Highlights include tailor-made visits for both children and adults, impromptu musical performances within the inaugural exhibition, and an evening event inviting guests to dance a slow waltz in the museum's picturesque courtyard.
Furthermore, the permanent collections have been completely redesigned to offer a renewed focus.
