Olympic champion Adam Peaty has reportedly delivered a 'cruel new blow' to his parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, as a bitter family rift continues to intensify following his wedding to Holly Ramsay.
A Wedding Day Absence Sparks Feud
The three-time gold medallist tied the knot with television chef Gordon Ramsay's daughter in a ceremony at Bath Abbey in December 2024. However, the joyous occasion was marred by the notable absence of Adam's immediate family.
Caroline and Mark Peaty, along with other relatives, did not attend the wedding after reportedly being banned from the event. The situation has now escalated further with claims of a pointed social media post from the swimmer.
The 'Galling' Social Media Snub
According to a source speaking to The Sun, Adam allegedly shared an image from his private social media account that was seen by a family member. The picture, which was also featured in Vogue magazine, showed the newlyweds posing with Holly's parents, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, their son, and celebrities David and Victoria Beckham.
"This picture appeared on a family member’s socials, and it was galling," the insider revealed. "To see Adam and his bride in her ensemble would have been lovely but the photos showed them with Gordon and Tana, their son and the Beckhams!"
The source emphasised the painful symbolism, stating: "Just look at the Beckhams posing where Caroline and Mark should be. Gordon’s son is there too but not Adam's." It is claimed the image has been deliberately kept from Adam's parents.
Speeches and Scathing Messages
The wedding itself was filled with emotional moments, notably Gordon Ramsay's 'explosive' father of the bride speech. The celebrity chef described it as a "tough gig" but said it went perfectly. His daughter Tilly confirmed it was an incredibly emotional moment that moved guests to tears.
Adam also made a speech during the celebrations, vowing he would "always choose" his new wife, Holly. The fallout with his mother, Caroline, began weeks before the wedding, leading to her exclusion. The situation deteriorated further when, hours before the ceremony, Adam's aunt Louise sent him a scathing text message he never received as he had blocked his family.
The message read: "I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame." It concluded with a poignant reminder of the hurt caused.
The feud has cast a shadow over what should have been a unifying family celebration, leaving a public divide between the Olympic star and his relatives.
