Alex Jones Marks 10-Year Wedding Milestone in New Zealand During BBC Break
Alex Jones celebrates 10th wedding anniversary in NZ

BBC presenter Alex Jones has shared a touching personal update with fans while enjoying a festive break from her duties on The One Show.

The 48-year-old Welsh television star is currently in New Zealand, the native country of her husband Charlie Thomson, spending quality time with their three children as the popular early evening programme takes its customary holiday hiatus.

A Decade of Marriage Celebrated Across Hemispheres

On New Year's Eve, Jones took to Instagram to mark a significant personal milestone: ten years since she and Charlie exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony at Cardiff Castle.

Alongside beautiful throwback photos from their wedding day and a more recent picture, she penned a heartfelt caption. "Today, we celebrate 10 years as husband and wife. Then and now," she wrote.

She humorously noted the international celebration, stating: "We married in the northern hemisphere so it was only right to mark a decade, with our children in the southern hemisphere. It's all about compromise."

Jones expressed gratitude to the family and friends who made their wedding day special and continue to bring joy to their lives.

Fan Support and New Year Wishes

Followers of the presenter were quick to flood the comments with congratulatory messages for the couple's anniversary milestone.

Several hours later, Jones shared another post, this time featuring herself in an elegant black strappy dress, to extend her New Year wishes to followers.

"The clock has already rolled into 2026 in NZ but just wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year when it comes," she wrote. "Thank you for all your encouragement and support this year. I hope there's a wonderful year waiting around the corner for you all x."

Family Focus and Health Challenges

Alex Jones frequently offers glimpses into her family life on social media, including snippets of their recent move from London to the countryside and outings with children Teddy, Kit, and Annie.

She has also been open about her husband Charlie's past health struggles. During an appearance on Gabby Logan's The MidPoint podcast, Jones revealed that Charlie had endured a "rough period" in 2023, battling both Lyme Disease and viral meningitis.

She described the difficulty of watching him "fall apart," but shared a positive update, confirming he is now "in a much better place."

Jones attributed part of his recovery to a focused approach to nutrition and a balanced diet, a priority for the couple, especially as parents to three young children.

The One Show returns to BBC One on Monday, January 5 at 7pm.
