Soap icon Beverley Callard has firmly dismissed speculation that her dramatic physical transformation is due to popular weight loss injections like Ozempic. The 68-year-old actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald in ITV's Coronation Street, insists her toned figure is solely the result of lifelong dedication to fitness.
"Working My Backside Off": The Fitness Truth
In a recent statement, Beverley Callard clarified that her impressive physique is not the result of "any weight loss jabs". She attributed her appearance to consistent hard work, stating she has been "working her backside off" all her life. The star, who has released successful workout videos in the past, was quick to add that she "wouldn't criticise anyone" for using pharmaceutical aids and encouraged people to "do what they need to do".
Her comments come amid skyrocketing use of drugs like Ozempic (semaglutide), a prescription medication for type 2 diabetes that has become a controversial diet trend. Beverley's message champions a more traditional route to wellness through exercise and commitment.
A Chilling Paranormal Encounter in Norfolk
Beyond fitness, Beverley has recently returned to television in a very different genre. She features in the Discovery+ reality series Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted, where she sought help for strange occurrences in her 19th-century converted barn in Norfolk, which she shares with her husband, Jon.
After moving from Salford, Beverley reported being too frightened to be alone in the property. She described alarms sounding in the dead of night and claimed to have seen two mysterious specks of light, prompting her to call in a team of paranormal experts.
Filming Halted Amid Terrifying 'Possession'
The investigation took a terrifying turn during a ritual designed to contact any spirits present. While attempting to make contact using a crystal pendulum, Beverley began to sweat and tremble uncontrollably. The pendulum reportedly swung rapidly on its own as she asked, "Are you a young boy?"
Filming was abruptly halted as Beverley's hands, arms, and body shook without her conscious control. One of the experts, Jayne Harris, stepped in to assist, urgently working to "clear the aura and energy" around the visibly rattled actress. A clearly shaken Beverley ended up exclaiming, "Can I run out of here!?" and begged the team not to conduct any further experiments on her during the investigation.
