Breaking Amish's Jeremiah Raber Updates Fans After Health Scare

Jeremiah Raber, known for his role on the TLC reality series Breaking Amish, has provided a crucial update to his followers following a severe health scare that required emergency hospital treatment.

A Serious Health Emergency

The 45-year-old television personality first alerted his 153,000 TikTok followers to the crisis on December 30, posting a selfie from a hospital bed. He revealed he was 'waiting to be life flighted to another hospital' for urgent care. Raber, who lives with diabetes, shared that his 'blood levels' had reached a dangerous 993 and he was facing possible liver failure.

Subsequent posts documented his air ambulance transfer, featuring images from inside and outside the helicopter, followed by a video from a new hospital bed. After a period of treatment, Raber posted a more positive message on Saturday, writing, 'I'm doing good and will be out tomorrow.' His most recent communication thanked his online audience for their prayers, which he said he 'truly appreciates.'

An Ongoing Health Battle

This incident is not an isolated one for Raber, who has contended with significant health issues for years. In April 2024, he was hospitalised for heart problems and diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication that can be life-threatening. Engaging with concerned fans, Raber has explained the complexity of his condition, describing it as 'brittle diabetes' and urging people to understand that it is 'way different than regular diabetes.'

His health struggles have also led to financial strain, with the star thanking fans in March 2024 for donations to help cover his medical expenses. Raber first found fame on Breaking Amish in 2012, a show about young Amish adults exploring modern life, and later appeared on Return to Amish, becoming one of the series' most outspoken cast members.

Fan Support and Personal Life

Followers have flooded his social media with messages of support. One user wrote, 'This man has been through so much in his young life,' while others offered prayers and empathy, noting that 'Diabetes is a terrible disease.' On the personal front, Raber was married to Carmela Raber in 2016, but she filed a restraining order against him in April 2022, with their split confirmed weeks later. He has three children from a previous marriage to Naomi Stutzman.
