Christine Lampard's Exclusive Interview on Marriage and Family Life

In an exclusive and glamorous International Women's Day photoshoot with Notebook magazine, Loose Women panelist Christine Lampard opened up about her marriage to football legend Frank Lampard, parenting their two young children, and her thoughts on potentially renewing their wedding vows.

International Women's Day Reflections

The Northern Irish television presenter, who grew up in Newtownards outside Belfast, emphasized the continued importance of International Women's Day during the special Loose Women gathering that also included co-stars Brenda Edwards, GK Barry, and Oti Mabuse.

"It's so important, even if it just starts conversations," Christine stated. "There's so much abuse still happening against women. As the mother of a little girl, I'm suddenly very aware of the world for her in the future. I want her to feel empowered."

Christine, who has been a Loose Women regular since 2016, revealed she constantly encourages her six-year-old daughter Patricia, telling her she can achieve anything she desires. Meanwhile, her three-year-old son Freddie has unsurprisingly developed a passion for football like his famous father.

Marriage to Frank Lampard and Family Dynamics

Christine and Frank celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary in December, having been together for seventeen years total. The couple maintains a strong relationship despite Frank's frequent work commitments that take him away from home.

"We've never known anything else. I motor on," Christine explained about their time apart. "Frank and I have been together 17 years now. We're lucky in that we think the same way about most things. We never fight — only over silly things like how Frank can't wash his hands without it looking like a tsunami's hit!"

The television personality described their household as a "strong unit" that shares plenty of laughter together. She acknowledged the challenges of balancing work and motherhood without her immediate family nearby, as her mother and sister remain in Belfast.

"Honestly, I'd move back home one day," Christine admitted, though she noted she has found a good equilibrium between her career and parenting responsibilities.

Vow Renewal Condition Revealed

When asked about potentially renewing her wedding vows with Frank, Christine expressed enthusiastic interest with one specific condition.

"I would! We were 10 years married in December though, so we missed the boat. We were too lazy," she confessed with characteristic humor. "Do we wait for 20 years? I'd only want a big celebration back home - and the kids could have a role, they'd love that."

The presenter made clear that any vow renewal ceremony would need to take place in Northern Ireland, allowing their children to participate in the special occasion.

Loose Women Sisterhood and Memorable Moments

Christine spoke passionately about the unique bond among the Loose Women panelists, describing the show's twenty-five year run as maintaining "the best laugh" and creating a powerful platform for women of all ages.

"Depending on what my problem is, I know exactly who to go to for advice," she revealed about her co-stars.

She highlighted several impactful moments from the show, including their domestic abuse campaign that reached Parliament in late 2025, Denise Welch's discussions about depression, and Brenda Edwards' brave sharing of personal heartbreak.

"These women sharing such raw versions of themselves takes my breath away," Christine said emotionally. "It makes me love them that bit more. I forget I'm on the telly, I'm so in the moment. We're like family – we've got each other's backs."

Frank's Unforgettable Appearance and Personal Growth

Christine recalled one particularly amusing episode when Frank appeared as a guest and was unexpectedly ordained so that Janet Street-Porter could marry herself.

"Another random day in the office!" she laughed, noting that Frank sometimes messages during broadcasts to question something she's said on air.

The presenter reflected on what advice she would give her younger self, emphasizing the importance of taking risks and worrying less about others' opinions.

"Stop worrying about what people think. And don't be afraid of 'no'," she advised. "Take risks, or as we say back home, 'Jump and the net will appear.' I'm grateful for what I did when I was younger. I wouldn't now — kids changed that."

Loose Women continues to air weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player, maintaining its position as a daytime television staple that combines entertainment with meaningful conversation.
