Danny Miller shares rare photo with famous dad Vince

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has received an outpouring of support from fans after posting a touching festive photo with his rarely-seen father, entertainment veteran Vince Miller.

A Festive Family Gathering

The 34-year-old soap star, best known for playing Aaron Dingle, marked Christmas by sharing intimate family pictures on Instagram. The images captured a special moment with three generations of the Miller family together for the holidays.

In one photograph, Danny has his arm wrapped around his 91-year-old father as they sit before a decorated Christmas tree. Another sweet snapshot shows the actor posing with two of his three children alongside his beaming dad, all smiling for the camera.

Danny captioned the heartfelt post: "Christmas complete. Three generations of The Miller boys."

The Legacy of Showbiz Royalty

While Danny is a household name from the Yorkshire Dales, his father Vince is a legend in his own right. Warmly known as the 'king of compere', Vince Miller enjoyed a dazzling 65-year career in entertainment as a comedian and singer.

He was the familiar face of the VIP scene at Manchester United, an ironic role given Danny's well-known support for rivals Liverpool FC. During his long career, Vince rubbed shoulders with icons like Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey and delivered a heartfelt eulogy at comedian Bernard Manning's funeral.

Vince decided to retire at the age of 82, telling the Manchester Evening News: "I have no regrets about it. The time is now to retire while you're on top. You don't want people saying 'not him again'."

Fan Reaction and Miller's Soap Journey

Fans and friends quickly flooded the comments section with warm messages. Emmerdale co-star Jay Kontzle, who plays Billy Fletcher, wrote: "Beautiful mate, merry Christmas."

One follower commented: "Aww, precious time, lovely to see your dad smiling and happy", while another described the photos as "heart melting." Many noted the strong family resemblance, with one fan pointing out: "Danny you have the same smile as your Dad. You can see the pride in his face, and you’re still his little boy."

Danny Miller first joined Emmerdale in 2008 but left after five years for roles including a part in crime drama Scott and Bailey. He returned to the soap in 2014, left again seven years later to win I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, and then confirmed his return as Aaron Dingle once more in 2023.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV and ITVX.
