Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has declared himself the "proudest dad" as his daughter, Holly Ramsay, married Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday.
A Father's Heartfelt Message
The 59-year-old culinary star took to Instagram to express his overwhelming emotions on the momentous day. Ramsay wrote that he felt "truly so lucky" to have walked his "beautiful bride" down the aisle, and celebrated gaining an "incredible son-in-law" in the form of the decorated athlete.
His post, addressed to his 25-year-old daughter, concluded with the touching sentiment: "I love you so much @hollyramsayy and couldn’t be a prouder Dad xxx." The wedding comes a little over a year after the couple announced their engagement in September 2024.
Preparations at the Historic Venue
In the hours leading up to the ceremony, preparations were in full swing at the historic Bath Abbey. Staff were seen positioning elegant white flowers within lush foliage arranged around the Abbey's iconic West Front door, setting a romantic scene for the anticipated arrival of celebrity guests.
The build-up to the wedding has not been without reported family tensions, but the focus remained firmly on the celebration. On the morning of his wedding day, Peaty, who turns 31 on Sunday, posted a serene photo of the sunrise to his Instagram story with the simple caption: "Morning of our wedding."
From Strictly Romance to Wedding Bells
The couple's love story began in 2021 when they were both contestants on the popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. They were reportedly introduced by Holly's sister, Tilly Ramsay, who was also competing that series.
Announcing their engagement last year, Holly shared an emotional Instagram post stating, "I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now." Peaty echoed her joy in a separate post, writing, "I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side."
Adam Peaty, from Staffordshire, is one of Britain's most successful Olympians, having secured six Olympic medals throughout his stellar swimming career. He was previously in a relationship with Eirianedd Munro, with whom he has a five-year-old son.
