Hilary Duff Confesses to Deliberately Crashing Lindsay Lohan's Premiere
Hilary Duff has openly admitted that she intentionally crashed the Freaky Friday premiere of her "childhood nemesis" Lindsay Lohan back in 2003. The former child stars, who rose to fame in the early 2000s, were embroiled in a well-documented feud that originated from a messy love triangle involving the late Aaron Carter, whom they both dated simultaneously.
Podcast Revelation of Teenage Antics
Appearing on the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Duff, now 38, was directly asked if she deliberately showed up at the Freaky Friday premiere to bother Lohan, the star of the film. "I think absolutely yes. I was a teenager," the Lizzie McGuire actor replied. She explained that she was invited by their mutual co-star Chad Michael Murray, saying, "I don't wanna start any more stuff, but, like, he was like, 'You should come with me.' And I was like, 'Mhmm. Probably I should.'"
When questioned whether she was surprised when Lohan returned the favor by attending the premiere of Duff's family comedy Cheaper by the Dozen months later, Duff responded with a laugh, "No. I mean, that was, like, my childhood nemesis." She added humorously, "I'm sure my publicist will be like, what the f*** are you doing? But now it's so many years later. Like, who cares? It does not matter."
Feud Origins and Reconciliation
Duff addressed the beginning of their feud, blaming the lack of social media at the time for the confusion. "There was no social media to be like, who was dating who?" she said. "You just take people's word for it and then people get mad at you. I mean if you're, like, Lindsay Lohan or me, he's, like, probably dating both of us, like, you know what I mean?"
However, Duff revealed that she and Lohan have since buried the hatchet. "Lindsay came up to me at a club once and was like, 'Are we good?' and I was like, 'We're good.' She was like, 'Let's take a shot,'" she recalled, highlighting their amicable resolution years later.
Duff's Recent Career Moves
Earlier this month, Duff, who gained fame in 2001 for her lead role in Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire series and its spinoff film, released her first album in over a decade. Titled luck... or something, the new record has generated excitement among fans eagerly awaiting her return to music. She also announced a world tour in support of the album, named the Lucky Me tour, which will kick off in West Palm Beach, Florida, this June before visiting major U.S. cities like New York City, Los Angeles, and her hometown of Houston. The tour will then extend to Europe, Australia, Canada, and Mexico, marking a significant milestone in her ongoing entertainment career.
