Kylie Jenner Gets Emotional Explaining Family Fame Origin to Daughter Stormi
Kylie Jenner Emotional Telling Daughter About Kardashian Fame

Kylie Jenner experienced a deeply emotional moment while revealing the origins of the Kardashian-Jenner family's fame to her young daughter Stormi. The 28-year-old makeup mogul shared this poignant experience during her appearance on the latest episode of the Big Bro with Kid Cudi podcast.

The Family Conversation That Triggered Tears

Jenner described sitting down with Stormi to explain how the family's television show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, catapulted them to international stardom back in 2007. Notably, she avoided any reference to half-sister Kim Kardashian's infamous sex tape that initially brought attention to the family.

"I sat her down, and I'm like, 'We started a television show when I was a year older than you, and that's why we're all in this together,'" Jenner recalled during the podcast interview. "[Stormi] was like, 'Can I watch it?' And I'm like, 'Sure.'"

Unexpected Emotional Response

Jenner then decided to show Stormi, whom she shares with ex-partner Travis Scott along with four-year-old son Aire, an episode of the iconic E! series. The viewing experience unexpectedly left Jenner weeping in her bed afterward.

"I was so emotional after," Jenner confessed to host Kid Cudi. "I don't know what hit me, but I was weeping in my bed. I don't know why that happened to me."

The reality star, who was just nine years old when she first appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians alongside sisters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian and sister Kendall Jenner, reflected on what might have triggered her intense reaction.

"I was just like, maybe it's my daughter being the same as I was [or] just seeing my family and I'm, just feeling so grateful for all that we've built, but also mourning that closeness when we were all kind of living under the same roof," she explained. "It was very emotional. I didn't know it was going to hit me like that."

The Kardashian Television Legacy

Jenner virtually grew up before an audience of millions as Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired on E! for fourteen consecutive years from 2007 to 2021. The groundbreaking reality series offered viewers unprecedented access to the blended Kardashian-Jenner family's dynamic lifestyle, particularly as Kim Kardashian forged her own Hollywood career following her leaked sex tape controversy.

The entire family, including Caitlyn Jenner, Rob Kardashian, and matriarch Kris Jenner, filmed twenty seasons before transitioning to a new show, The Kardashians, with streaming platform Hulu in 2022. The Kardashians recently aired its seventh season in late 2025, with an eighth season expected to premiere sometime this year.

Parental Concerns About Fame

During the same podcast interview, Jenner expressed genuine fears about how her family's ever-expanding fame might impact her children as they mature.

"When Stormi turns 15, I don't know how I'm going to handle it," she admitted. "We don't know how [fame] is going to affect them, and it's really scary."

Despite these concerns, Jenner emphasized that her children help her maintain perspective. "I have my family. I have my kids that I go home to that love me so much and have no idea what's going on in this world," she said. "They definitely keep me grounded."

Rare Remarks on Romance with Timothee Chalamet

Elsewhere in the podcast conversation, Jenner offered rare comments about her relationship with Oscar-nominated actor Timothee Chalamet. The couple has been dating since 2023 following Jenner's split from on-again, off-again boyfriend and father of her children, Travis Scott, in 2022.

When host Kid Cudi asked about her favorite Chalamet film, Jenner responded thoughtfully. "That's hard for me because I really love them all," she said before ultimately selecting Call Me By Your Name as her top choice.

The 2017 drama, which co-starred Armie Hammer, follows teenager Elio Perlman as he spends time with his family at their 17th-century Italian villa and develops a passionate relationship with Oliver, a handsome doctoral student interning for Elio's father.

Jenner also expressed particular admiration for Chalamet's performances in the Dune film series, adding that she's eagerly anticipating the upcoming Dune 3 installment.
