MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow has left her social media followers utterly astonished after sharing a series of photos to mark her 52nd birthday earlier this month. Fans were quick to comment that the television personality appears to be ageing backwards, marvelling at her seemingly ageless visage and figure.
A Celebration of Age and Wisdom
The celebrity chef marked the milestone by posting images of herself relaxing in a hammock, wearing a chic black two-piece swimsuit. Alongside the photos, Poh shared a poignant reflection on her journey through life. "I remember at 15, wondering if anyone would ever notice me and thinking 30 was old, then actually turning 30 and daftly feeling ancient," she wrote.
She contrasted those earlier feelings with her current outlook at 52, stating, "But now, freshly 52, after having been tumbled by the whole spectrum of life’s happenings, I instead feel new." Poh beautifully compared herself to a river-polished pebble, made shinier with age as life's debris slides away.
Fans React and Future Resolutions
The response from her followers was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing disbelief at her youthful appearance. One fan exclaimed, "I’d swear you were a young girl in that photo," while another added, "Look at you, getting more & more gorgeous with age goddamit … how hot you gonna be at 100?"
In her post, Poh also extended New Year's wishes, revealing a personal goal for 2026 is to "rush less." She encouraged her followers to make time for their own simple pleasures, writing, "I’m slowly learning there’s no point in working your a**e off if you don’t also teach yourself to enjoy."
A Second Post and Career Milestones
In a second birthday post, Poh shared a glimpse into her childhood, explaining that her family rarely celebrated birthdays, leading to her receiving few presents in life. She posted another photo in the same bikini, her long black hair in pigtails, accessorised with a wide-brimmed hat and a stunning beaded necklace made by a friend from the Yawanawà tribe of the Amazon.
The chef's career has seen significant highs recently. In 2025, she reached a major professional milestone when she was nominated for a Gold Logie. She was among seven nominees, including Julia Morris and Hamish Blake, with the award ultimately going to Lynne McGranger.
Poh joined the MasterChef Australia judging panel in 2022, following the tragic death of Jock Zonfrillo and the departures of fellow judges Melissa Leong and Andy Allen. Her journey from contestant to beloved judge continues to inspire her legion of fans.
