Mickey Rourke Faces £44K Eviction in LA After CBB Controversy
Mickey Rourke faces eviction over £44k unpaid rent

Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke is reportedly on the brink of being evicted from his Los Angeles rental property, with claims he has fallen behind on rent to the tune of nearly £44,000.

From Reality TV Eviction to Legal Threat

The 73-year-old star of Sin City and The Wrestler is said to have been renting a three-bedroom Spanish-style bungalow just south of West Hollywood since April 2025. According to legal documents, his landlord, named as Eric Goldie, has taken action after the actor allegedly failed to make payments.

An eviction notice was reportedly posted on the exterior of the property on December 18, just before Christmas. The notice gave Rourke three days to either pay the substantial sum in overdue rent or vacate the premises. With the deadline unmet, the case is now expected to proceed to court.

A Tumultuous Year Following CBB Exit

This financial and legal strife follows a tumultuous period for the actor, which began with his controversial stint on the UK's Celebrity Big Brother earlier in the year. Rourke was removed from the ITV show in April 2025 after less than a week, following numerous complaints about his behaviour.

ITV stated his removal was due to 'use of inappropriate language' and 'instances of unacceptable behaviour'. This included making homophobic remarks to singer and dancer JoJo Siwa, to whom he said, "If I stay longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore." He also used sexual language towards Ella Rae Wise from The Only Way Is Essex.

A final altercation with Love Island star Chris Hughes during a task, which involved threatening and aggressive language, led producers to ask the actor to leave. Following his exit, Rourke issued a public apology, stating he was "ashamed" and had "stepped over the line".

Financial Fallout and Low Profile

His early exit from the reality show reportedly had direct financial consequences. It is believed his rumoured £500,000 appearance fee was slashed, as celebrities who are removed do not receive their full payment. A source at the time indicated the fee reduction would be discussed with him.

Since fleeing the UK after the scandal, Rourke has largely kept out of the public eye. In August, he was photographed looking unrecognisable with grey hair, answering the door for a food delivery at his Beverly Hills home. The property was described as having an overgrown garden with dead vines and a run-down front door.

The latest eviction threat marks a significant low for the once-acclaimed actor, a BAFTA and Golden Globe winner for his role in The Wrestler. It remains to be seen how he will resolve this latest confrontation with the courts.
