Nicola Adams Hints at Romance with Christine McGuinness

Nicola Adams has strongly hinted at her rumoured romance with Christine McGuinness, sharing a video that declares she is 'crazy' about someone. The former professional boxer, 43, is believed to have grown close to the ex-wife of Paddy McGuinness, 38, with both women dropping several hints on social media in recent days.

Taking to Instagram on Monday with her most telling post yet, Adams shared a video of herself dancing with her eyes closed, interspersed with a clip of Evan Peters performing the same dance in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Over the video, she wrote: 'Them: "You're not that crazy about that woman"', while quipping 'Who me? #wlw' in the caption.

News of the Olympic gold medallist's blossoming romance with TV personality McGuinness emerged last month after they attended The DIVA Awards 2026 in London, a celebration of the achievements of LGBTQIA women and non-binary people. An onlooker described the pair's connection as undeniable, telling the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential: 'They were inseparable and looked like they were a couple.'

It appears to be early days for the couple, who now follow each other on Instagram. A representative for Adams said this week: 'We don't feel the need to make a comment at this time.'

This comes after McGuinness, who has dated both men and women, branded herself a 'five star lesbian' as she opened up about her sexuality, sex life, and love of 'Japanese bondage'. In a recent interview on the LGBTQ+ podcast It Started With A Kiss, the mother-of-three told queer icons Amy Spalding and Gareth Valentino about her dream of having a wife. She said: 'I would love to have a wife one day, not like a legalised marriage, but like a blessing, a celebration of love and all of that, I would love to just be saying, "this is my wife!"'

McGuinness also spoke about her preference for a 'double life', explaining: 'My family, my kids, my home is up there and then I come to London, step off that train, I can work, have fun, I can sleep in and I don't need to worry about everything.' She added: 'I love a double life! And this has become a problem because eventually it gets to the point where, obviously, I'm quite happy at this, and then my woman's going… [When] am I going to meet the kids? And "are we doing this forever?" And I'm kind of going like, "OK, I thought I did tell you that that wasn't going to change any time soon at the beginning".'

The TV personality got very personal during the interview, candidly sharing how she will only use new sex toys fresh out of the plastic. She recalled a hotel encounter with a 'Gold Star Lesbian', joking that she herself is a 'Five Star Lesbian'. A Gold Star Lesbian is a slang term for a lesbian who has never had sexual or romantic experiences with men. McGuinness also discussed doing exclusive content on adult platform Subs and her enjoyment of Shibari, an art form using rope to create intricate patterns on the body, emphasising trust and emotional connection.
