Patsy Kensit Parts with Liam Gallagher's Diamond Earrings in £10,000 Auction
Actress Patsy Kensit has publicly announced she is selling a pair of diamond earrings originally gifted to her by her former husband, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. The 57-year-old star, known for her role in Emmerdale, has set a reserve price of £10,000 for the jewellery, which she hopes will find a good home through the upcoming sale.
Auction Details and Personal Reflections
Kensit has entrusted the earrings to television antiques expert Tom Keane for an auction scheduled next month at The Swan in Tetsworth, Oxfordshire. She previously wore the diamonds to an awards event in 1999, during her marriage to Gallagher. The couple wed in 1997 but separated in 2000, shortly after the birth of their son, Lennon.
In a candid interview with The Sun On Sunday, Kensit explained her decision, stating, 'Times are tough. There are a lot of actors and actresses like me that have to tighten their belts.' She added, 'I won’t be the first woman that will have sold jewellery that her ex gave her. I hope the earrings go to a good home.'
Decades of Separation and Family Dynamics
Despite sharing a son with Gallagher, Kensit revealed she has not seen the musician for 26 years. During an appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, she confirmed she did not attend the recent Oasis reunion shows, though she expressed happiness for their son Lennon's experience. 'I watched the whole thing unfold and it was magical, those memories,' she said. 'I'm so happy for Lennon because he's gone to watch this cultural explosion.'
Recent Ventures and Personal Life Updates
This auction follows Kensit's involvement in a new promotional campaign for the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE phone, which features an AI-powered tool to remove ex-partners from photos. The campaign aligns with research indicating nearly half of Brits delete online traces of exes after a split.
Kensit's personal life has seen recent turbulence, including the end of her engagement to property tycoon Patric Cassidy last May after reported public disputes. Reflecting on her romantic history, she told HELLO! magazine, 'I wouldn't want a relationship, I am not interested. I do believe in love, but for me it's not something I need.' She emphasised focusing on her own company and supporting her sons' relationships with their fathers.
Marital History and Current Outlook
Kensit's four marriages have all ended in divorce:
- Dan Donovan (1988–1991), lead singer of Big Audio Dynamite.
- Jim Kerr (1992–1996), frontman of Simple Minds, with whom she shares son James.
- Liam Gallagher (1997–2000), with son Lennon.
- Jeremy Healy (2009–2010), a DJ.
In a 2024 interview with The Mirror, she advised, 'You don't have to marry all of your boyfriends,' and highlighted her priority as ensuring her sons maintain strong bonds with their fathers, while she remains detached from her exes. This auction marks another step in her journey of moving forward independently.
