Adam Peaty's Sister Accused of 'Betrayal' for Attending Wedding Amid Family Feud
Peaty's sister 'betrayed' mum by attending his wedding

The family of Olympic champion Adam Peaty reportedly feels his sister, Bethany, committed an act of "betrayal" against their mother by attending his wedding to Holly Ramsay last week. The ceremony, held at Bath Abbey on 27 December, was notably absent of most of the Peaty family due to an ongoing and bitter feud.

A Wedding Divided by Family Strife

While Holly Ramsay's family, including her father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, were present, Adam Peaty's parents, Caroline and Mark, and his brothers, James and Richard, remained at their home in Staffordshire. Bethany Peaty, 32, was the sole family member from Adam's side in attendance, and she served as a bridesmaid alongside Holly's sisters, Megan and Tilly Ramsay.

A source close to the Peaty family told The Sun that Bethany's decision to go to the wedding was seen as a profound disloyalty. "Beth has betrayed her mum to see what she can get out of being the only family member who gets on with Adam and Holly," the source claimed. They further alleged that Bethany had "changed her appearance and personality to fit in with the Ramsays’ celebrity lifestyle," stating, "This isn’t the Bethany we all know."

The Roots of the Ramsay-Peaty Rift

The source indicated the family believes the Ramsays deliberately orchestrated the rift to exclude Adam's parents. Tensions are said to have begun at the couple's engagement party in 2024, where Gordon and Caroline clashed after several Peaty family members were not invited. The situation deteriorated when Caroline was excluded from Holly's hen do.

This prompted Caroline's sister, Louise, to send a furious message to the couple. Holly was reportedly so upset by this that Caroline was subsequently uninvited from the wedding entirely. The source pointed to Gordon Ramsay's wedding speech, where he allegedly expressed it was a "shame" Holly didn't have her in-laws present, as evidence of a "plan all along."

Escalating Conflict and Final Fallout

The feud escalated dramatically in the lead-up to the wedding. Upon returning from his stag do, Adam was met by police at Manchester Airport for his safety after receiving threatening messages. His brother, James, was arrested in connection with allegedly sending those messages.

Further exclusions occurred just days before the ceremony, with Adam's great-aunt Janet and her husband Eddie being disinvited after having booked accommodation and bought gifts. On the wedding day itself, aunt Louise sent Adam a final, scathing text as he entered the abbey, writing: "I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both." She added that Caroline's "soul screams" over the fallout.

It is understood Adam did not read this message. He has reportedly blocked several family members, cutting off communication. The wedding, intended as a celebration, has instead laid bare a deep and painful family division, with Bethany's attendance becoming the latest focal point of the conflict.
