Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has once again made a pointed omission while publicly celebrating his daughter's wedding to Olympic champion Adam Peaty, fuelling further speculation about a reported rift with the swimmer's family.
A 'Perfect' Day Overshadowed by Absence
Ramsay, 59, took to social media to comment on British Vogue's photographs of the lavish wedding between his model daughter Holly, 26, and the gold-medal swimmer, 31. The couple tied the knot in a stunning ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday, 27 December, surrounded by a host of famous faces.
"Perfect wedding and such wonderful guests to witness your beautiful wedding. Congratulations to you both," Ramsay wrote, tagging the newlyweds. The post, however, made no reference to Adam Peaty's parents or wider family.
The Background of the Reported Family Feud
This latest comment follows weeks of reports detailing tensions between the couple and Adam's family, particularly his mother, Caroline. The situation is said to have escalated when Caroline was absent from Holly's hen do at the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.
The guest list for the wedding itself highlighted the division. Adam's older sister, Bethany, was the only member of his immediate family in attendance, serving as one of Holly's three bridesmaids alongside the bride's sisters, Tilly and Megan Ramsay.
Other notable guests included:
- Victoria and David Beckham and their children
- Chef Marcus Wareing
- Dragons' Den star Sara Davies
Ramsay's Continued Silence Speaks Volumes
Gordon Ramsay had already reportedly made a veiled dig at Adam's absent parents during his father-of-the-bride speech. His latest social media activity continues this pattern of public silence on the matter.
On the wedding morning, Ramsay had posted that he "couldn't be a prouder dad" and expressed joy at gaining an "incredible son-in-law." In her Vogue interview, Holly revealed the couple's honeymoon to Mauritius was a gift from her parents, Gordon and Tana Ramsay.
The absence has not gone unnoticed by Adam's family. His aunt, Louise Williams, previously used Instagram to criticise Holly after the hen do, calling her actions "divisive and hurtful" towards Caroline Peaty.
As the glamorous photos circulate, the narrative surrounding one of the year's most talked-about celebrity weddings remains firmly split between public celebration and private familial discord.
