Romeo Beckham Makes Met Gala Debut Amid Family Feud with Brooklyn
Romeo Beckham Met Gala Debut Amid Brooklyn Feud

Romeo Beckham made his Met Gala debut on Monday, showcasing his modelling prowess in a sophisticated Burberry ensemble. However, the 23-year-old's solo appearance on the red carpet was overshadowed by the looming tension of a potential reunion with his estranged brother, Brooklyn Beckham.

Family Fallout Intensifies

The Beckham siblings have been embroiled in a highly publicised family dispute after Brooklyn publicly criticised their parents, David and Victoria, accusing them of 'controlling his life and causing him huge embarrassment.' Brooklyn, 27, has attended multiple Met Galas in the past, both alone and with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, 31. However, the couple chose to avoid any awkward encounter with Romeo by staying in Los Angeles, leaving Romeo to take centre stage in New York.

Romeo's Met Gala Experience

Twelve years after his parents' last appearance at the gala, Romeo stepped up to represent the family name. Over the past 18 months, he has become a regular at fashion weeks and appeared perfectly at ease on the grand stage. He expressed a preference for 'more understated looks that still feel powerful.' Prior to the event, Romeo remarked: 'My first Met is a special moment for me, so I'll be taking it all in and appreciating every detail. I've always loved seeing how people interpret the dress codes – it's incredible how varied and individual each look can be.'

Brooklyn's Absence

This marks the second consecutive Met Gala that Brooklyn has missed. He has remained silent about his no-show, as he continues to distance himself from the Beckham brand. Since his scathing statement about his parents' parenting, Brooklyn has avoided discussing the fallout and regularly misses important family occasions, including his father's 51st birthday. Reports indicate he has also blocked family members, including Romeo, on Instagram.

Victoria Breaks Silence

Last month, Victoria Beckham, who was reportedly devastated by Brooklyn's Instagram comments, spoke publicly about the feud for the first time. She stated that she and David have always tried to protect their children. In his allegations, Brooklyn claimed his parents had 'constantly disrespected' his wife Nicola, triggering a major family breakdown with little sign of reconciliation. He added that he has no desire to reconnect with the family, focusing instead on life with his wife and starting their own family. When questioned directly about the dispute, Victoria avoided naming Brooklyn but responded: 'I think that we've always — we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it.'
