Music producer Scooter Braun is said to be feeling 'frustrated' and finds it 'incredibly disrespectful' that professional footballers are reportedly sliding into the Instagram direct messages of his girlfriend, actress Sydney Sweeney.
Relationship Strains and Sources of Tension
According to insiders speaking to The Sun, the 44-year-old manager is irritated by the messages, even though the 28-year-old Euphoria star ignores them and blocks the senders. A source explained that Sweeney is 'completely transparent' and shows Braun everything, but the sheer relentlessness of some approaches can upset him.
The couple, first linked after being seen together at the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Italy last year, are reportedly navigating some differences. 'Sydney has always been fiercely independent,' the source said. 'She values time alone... Scooter prefers togetherness, and he’s still adjusting to that.'
This is not the first point of contention. Braun was also reportedly 'furious' last year after Sweeney met with her ex-fiancé, Jonathan Davino, whom she was with for seven years before their split earlier this year.
Romance Reportedly 'Still Going Strong'
Despite these reported bumps, sources insist the pair's romance is serious and committed. They were recently spotted sharing a flirty moment at a VIP afterparty for the premiere of Sweeney's new film, The Housemaid, which debuts in cinemas on Friday, December 19.
'Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great,' an insider told Page Six in late November. Another added that the couple 'have a lot in common and neither one of them cares what others think.'
Sweeney's Career and Past Romance Rumours
In The Housemaid, Sweeney stars as Millie Calloway, an ex-con who becomes a live-in housemaid. Her on-screen chemistry with co-star Brandon Sklenar sparked brief romance rumours earlier this year, though Sklenar is in a long-term relationship.
This follows a similar pattern from 2023, when Sweeney and her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell fuelled affair speculation as a marketing tactic for their film, while both were in other relationships.
The new film, directed by Paul Feig and also starring Amanda Seyfried, represents Sweeney's latest career move as her personal life continues to draw public and media interest.
