Snoop Dogg Reveals Decade-Long Ambition to Partner with Simon Cowell on Television Project
In a candid new interview, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has openly expressed his strong desire to join forces with music industry titan Simon Cowell for an innovative television programme. The 54-year-old hip-hop icon, known for hits like "Drop It Like It's Hot," has labelled Cowell, aged 66, as one of the "great talent scouts of all time," highlighting the deep mutual respect between the two entertainment figures.
Nearly a Decade of Missed Opportunities
Snoop Dogg disclosed that discussions about a potential collaboration with Simon Cowell have been ongoing for more than ten years. He explained that several opportunities for partnership have arisen during this period, but logistical challenges consistently prevented them from materialising. "For real, I have been talking about working with my boy Simon for over ten years," Snoop stated. "There are times when it could have happened, when it nearly happened, but one of our schedules always got in the way."
The rapper emphasised his belief that Simon Cowell still possesses significant creative potential, asserting that the music mogul has "one great show left in him." Snoop Dogg reflected on the evolving television landscape, noting that while viewing habits have changed dramatically, programmes like The X Factor historically had the power to unite national audiences. He revealed concrete plans for a combination business discussion and social outing, stating, "I got a few ideas that could be huge, but I got to speak to Simon first. I should be back in the UK in a couple of weeks - so I am going to take him out for a curry, and a business chat."
Interestingly, Snoop Dogg was previously offered a judging position on the American version of The X Factor, which has since been discontinued. He declined the role at that time, feeling his skills would be better utilised in a mentoring capacity rather than as a conventional judge.
